Biography
Raised in the Eastern Cape, Dr Florence Antwi-Anyimadu-Hogah matriculated with distinction from Queenstown Girls High School in 2002. She got her MBCHB from the University of Cape Town in 2008.
She returned to the Eastern Cape and worked as an intern Doctor at the then East London Health Complex (Frere hospital and Cecilia Makiwane Hospital). It was during this period that her interest in ophthalmology was ignited.
Dr Antwi then started working in ophthalmology in 2013 as a medical officer obtaining a diploma in ophthalmology in 2015 from the Colleges of Medicine of Medicine of South Africa. She joined the specialization programme in 2017 and served this time at Frere hospital and Cecilia Makiwane Hospital as well as at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town. She completed her specialization in 2021.
